1967 on FONTANA Records France from the EP 'Gimme Some Loving'. Recorded when Steve Winwood, the lead singer was just 18 years old. During the 60's a lot of UK beat bands paid homage to the blues (see The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Small Faces, John Mayall Bluesbreakers, Cream, The Who, Fleetwood Mac etc.). This is a great version of the Elmore James song originally released in 1955. Sadly Elmore James died in 1963 aged just 45 so he never knew of the influence he had on the UK musicians.
